About Express Search

EXPRESS SEARCH was incorporated by Rodger Flagg on March 27, 1991. Rodger is an inventor and former patent agent who holds 14 patents of his own. In 1976, Rodger's interest in inventing led him to design a way to walk on water for the Bi-Centennial Raft Race held in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This invention was awarded U.S. Patent 4,154,188 in May 15, 1979 and appeared in the movie The Toy starring Richard Pryor.

Eleven additional patents soon followed, ranging from a pneumatic pump to a balance assist apparatus, a hydroponic growing system, a hydraulic car crusher, an improved wood burning stove, a thermal barrier, inflatable building logs, an improved solar collector, a hydrogen engine, a way to repressurize oil wells, and a vertical lift conveyor.

In 1978, Rodger passed the Patent Bar Exam, and became a registered patent agent. He worked in both private and corporate practice until 1988, when he left CTS corporation to start his own search service in Washington D.C.

From 1988 until 1991, Rodger fine-tuned his search procedures, while enlarging his contacts with attorneys, agents, inventors, and searchers. Several of his clients and co-workers invested with Rodger in EXPRESS SEARCH, and our office opened for business on May 1, 1991.

EXPRESS SEARCH expanded from 50 clients at start-up to more than 200 clients in the first two years. We are currently expanding at a rate of 10% to 30% per year. This is made possible by providing professional quality services at moderate rates and ensuring fast turnaround. We seek to build long working relationships with our clients.

In 2002, Rodger retired as a patent agent to focus on maintaining the highest quality search work in the industry.
